Who we are and what this covers
GTAHOW is an independently operated website about Grand Theft Auto VI, including news, guides, missions, and game reference pages. It is currently operated by an individual under the GTAHOW name. This policy covers gtahow.com and its related pages. For privacy questions or requests, contact info@gtahow.com.
Other sites reached through our links have their own privacy practices. GTAHOW is not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.
Information we handle
- When you browse: your browser may send an IP address, user-agent, requested URL, time of request, and similar technical data to Cloudflare, which we use for bot protection, and to our hosting provider. We use this information to deliver the site, maintain security, diagnose faults, and limit misuse.
- When you contact us: we receive the email address, message, and any information you choose to include. We use it to respond and manage the request.
- For authorized editors: we store account details, password hashes, role, session records, and activity logs. Login and administrative actions may record IP address, browser or device information, approximate location when supplied by our trusted infrastructure, and the time and nature of the action.
Public visitors do not need an account, and the application does not store an individual visitor's browsing history or profile in its database. Search requests may use an IP address briefly in server memory to limit abuse. Cloudflare and our hosting provider handle technical request data separately as described above. We do not currently run a site analytics service, advertising code, or a newsletter sign-up.
Why we use information
We process information as needed to operate the site, provide requested pages and replies, keep accounts secure, prevent abuse, maintain editorial records, and comply with applicable obligations. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, this may rest on our legitimate interests, a request or relationship with you, a legal obligation, or your consent where consent is required. We do not treat this policy as consent for optional tracking.
Analytics, advertising, and affiliate links
We may introduce privacy-focused, aggregated site analytics to understand visits, popular pages, and traffic sources. If enabled, we will identify the active provider and relevant data practices here and in our Cookie Policy. We do not currently use analytics to create individual visitor profiles.
We may later display advertising, including ads supplied by Google AdSense or direct advertising partners. Ad providers may use identifiers, cookies, or similar technologies to deliver and measure ads, subject to their own notices and the choices required by applicable law. We will identify active providers and put any required consent controls in place before enabling their optional technologies. This policy itself is not consent to advertising or tracking.
Some articles may contain affiliate links, including links to retailers such as Amazon. If you follow one and make a purchase, GTAHOW may earn a commission. The retailer may receive referral information and handle your purchase under its own terms. We will label sponsored content and affiliate relationships where they appear. No affiliate program is currently active on the site.
Cookies, external content, and service providers
Authorized editors receive a necessary login cookie. Cloudflare's bot protection may use security cookies when it challenges or verifies a request. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Some articles offer YouTube videos. The player connects to YouTube only after you choose to load it; YouTube may then collect data or use its own cookies under its policies. External links, including music services and social sites, take you to those services when selected. Some editorial images may be hosted by third parties and can cause your browser to contact their servers when displayed.
We currently use Oracle Cloud to host the site, Cloudflare to protect it against bot traffic, and Hostinger to operate our email service. They may process technical or message data needed to provide those services, potentially in countries other than yours. Hosting, security, email, analytics, and advertising providers may change as the site develops. We will identify material changes to personal data handling before the new use begins. We may also disclose information when required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect rights and security.
Retention and security
An editor's login cookie lasts up to seven days unless the session ends sooner. The application does not currently apply an automatic deletion period to administrative session and activity records in its database. Hosting, security, and email records are kept according to the settings of the relevant services. How long we keep other information depends on its purpose, security needs, legal obligations, and any applicable dispute period. We assess deletion or anonymization when information is no longer needed or when we receive a valid request, subject to legal requirements. We use access controls and other reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, delete, or restrict your personal information, object to certain processing, or exercise other rights under applicable law. You may also complain to the relevant data protection authority. Send a request to info@gtahow.com; we may need to verify your identity before acting. You can manage or delete cookies in your browser, though disabling necessary cookies may prevent editor login.
